Primary Season is under way for the November 2024 vote.

Election 2020

Biden-Harris (Democrat)

Election Day Was: Nov 3, 2020

Congratulations to the Biden-Harris team

A Perspective on politics.

The model of life for most adults is employment and the workplace.  To use this approach one notes there is the labor and there is the management.

The boss drives a nice car.  Labor wonders about the price of operating the vital transportation.  The boss is the Republican and labor is Democrat.

The accounting and engineering departments often side with management.

To many people the view on a range of personal issues dictates the voters’ response.

Bosses hate being told what to do by anyone including government.  The government regulations tell the bosses what to do.  Workers don’t mind regulations if it requires the boss to give rest periods and benefits.

So to many basic workers it depends on the financial issues of the day.

The issue of war and security and not education and human services define what will happen next.

As explained below the single issue voters will not leave the party.

New Politicians get seated in January 2023

The democrats now control only one house of government and the White House.  The president can’t push spending legislation through.

Mike Johnson is the new Speaker of the House

Many wonder will America spend to insure human rights will be upheld.

Political Wagering

The nature of a democracy and a two party system inherently breeds contempt.

If it were a gambling hall each candidate begins by wagering with “Chips” on an issue.

For Example:  Trump chipped oil and gas while Biden chipped “clean energy. “ People’s lives and way of life depend on the support of the government.  So if the question arises, “Do Americans have deep divisions?”  The answer will always be true.  Off shore oil costs billions and the setups are real today.  Any regulation or change harms the profit.

Can you think of other “Chips?”

---News---

In the grand theater of political debates, where candidates pirouette around tough questions with the grace of a ballet dancer avoiding puddles, it's always a spectacle to see what warms their hearts—or at least their talking points. One candidate might light up like a pinball machine over fiscal policies, their excitement bubbling over like a pot of gold at the end of a capitalist rainbow. Meanwhile, their opponent, channeling the spirit of the 60s, might be all about peace, love, and patchouli oil, advocating for a world where care bears might actually have a shot at running the government. It's a dance as old as time: money versus mercy, bullets versus bouquets. And as the audience, we're left wondering if we're watching a debate or the world's most intense game of 'hot potato.'

The Call to Serve: Why Military-Aged Individuals Should Embrace the Democratic Process

Multi-Tasking and candidates.

At the age of 80, males may experience changes in their ability to multitask. Research suggests that multitasking can affect brain health, leading to increased distractibility and a higher propensity for errors. It's noted that our brains are not designed for multitasking but rather for focusing on one task at a time. This becomes particularly relevant as we age, since the cognitive load of multitasking can lead to temporary increases in stress levels, which in turn can raise blood pressure and heart rate, potentially affecting overall health. Additionally, studies have shown that older adults may have more difficulty switching between tasks, which is a key component of multitasking. This could be due to age-related changes in brain function, affecting short-term memory and attention. It's also observed that after a certain age, there is an increase in the number of brain areas activated during multitasking, indicating a possible decrease in cognitive efficiency. Therefore, it's important for older males to be mindful of these changes and to manage their multitasking habits accordingly to maintain cognitive health.

The heart of democracy beats with the participation of its citizens. For those of military service age, engaging in the democratic process is not just a right; it's a profound way to honor the very principles they stand for. Here's why your voice and vote are indispensable:

1. **Defend Democracy**: Just as service members defend the nation, participating in elections defends the democratic process itself. Your vote is a sentinel of freedom.

2. **Shape Policy**: Decisions made by elected officials directly affect military funding, missions, and veterans' benefits. Voting is your chance to influence these critical issues.

3. **Lead by Example**: Military-aged individuals can set a powerful example for others, showing that civic duty extends beyond service in uniform.

4. **Be Heard**: Democracy thrives on diverse voices. Your unique perspectives as someone of service age enrich the national conversation.

5. **Secure the Future**: Voting impacts the future direction of the country. It's a way to ensure that the nation you might defend is one that reflects your values.

Your engagement in the democratic process is a continuation of the commitment to service. It's a call to action that resonates with the values of duty, honor, and country. So, let your voice be heard, for democracy's strength is in its participants. Let's all do our part.

Joe Biden unified the diverse sections of the American electorate to win a hard fought presidential election.  The hard working background contrasted well with the life of privilege that President Donald J. Trump ran on.  Risking billions of dollars is hard work to many.  The virus handling issue and the economic slowdown bogged down the Republican Party.  A perception the Washington and the president himself dodged was the truth issues.  Wishing away the virus must work for some but the dogged American essential workers had none of it.

For the “Off the wall”

Welcome to the President Trump Era.

Donald J. Trump is a “White Man” I don’t think he would argue with you.

Bush was a Texan, Clinton was a Bubba, Obama wasn’t so Irish,  Bush Senior was political about his running the CIA but Trump is white.

I would tell him in discussing a city I love Chicago its about crime, gangs and drugs when people get shot.

Its mostly the drug culture that brings the guns.  Many states have legalized Marijuana Trump wants a crack down.

Crackdowns bring more in protection money and that means guns.

Politics and democracy are about the common good.  Bad people use drugs and guns and shoot one another.  However be careful with overcorrecting situations or you just make matters worse or create unlivable situations.
